TwinStrand Biosciences, Inc. is a UW start-up in the genome sequencing space. The company is commercializing the Duplex Sequencing™ method developed by the founding team at the Loeb lab, which separately tags and sequences both strands of individual DNA molecules allowing data from each strand to be unambiguously distinguished and compared, improving the accuracy of modern Next Generation Sequencing processes by more than 10,000-fold. This higher accuracy is achieved without materially impacting the time or cost of these sequencing processes.
